" Merci, Le' Medecin "
Oh! the ever stately physician,
Must be at best a magician.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
To untangle the mysteries of health,
His patiences must be his greatest wealth.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
He must search through the rubble as though Diogenes, looking for an honest man.
To listen and surmise if he can.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
To save a soul or save a life,
Its all part of his inevitable strife.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When he took the Hippocratic Oath,
He must have received the key to both.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So whatever I make of this life you saved, please do not condemn me without a trial,
I just want to live for myself a little while.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
In this book of life is being written my final page,
But I'd still like to live to be a ripe old age.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So to this poor soul you've helped to save,
Eternal thanks, I'll carry to my grave.
