     " Twilight of Life "

Someday I’ll stroll along a
narrow, grassy lane,
I may be old, supported by
a wooden cane.

But neither wind, nor rain
will deter me,
For it is life I’ve come so
far to see.

The trees will whisper, the
breezes will sing,
All the sky will be sunshine
and all the frogs be kings.

The flowers will all smell of
heather,
I’ll stop a while to admire
and a few to gather.

All the ants will be blue-
green,
And every Lady Bug a queen.

Every butterfly will have its
flower,
Nary a bee will sting.

No more will April have a
shower.
Every vine will be a Silver
Swing_

All the toadstools will be as
pink pillows,
All the trees as Weeping
Willows.
Their tears will fall as rain
and make me young again.

For in my youth, I missed
the things,
I value now the most.
So won’t you come and walk
with me, and let Nature be
our host.
