Respecting the Veterans
Some people related to me who are veterans, and
what war they were in.

Veterans Day Speech
Hello citizens of the U.S.A. You should be resting right
now, but where are you? Most of you are at either work
or school. Did anyone remember it is Veteran's Day? Our
government makes it to where we cannot remember the days
that are very important to us. Veteran's Day is a day when
we should take the time to honor and respect the veterans.
But what time can we take to do so? Our government says we
should honor our veterans, but they give us no time to do
so. It's like giving the class the whole class period to
finish a test. ((Let this represent Veteran's Day.)) Then
the teacher talks the whole period. That represents our
government. We should take a stand, and make our government
give us the time we need to honor the veterans who lived
through the wars, and the veterans who
had their lives taken from them. I have relatives as veterans. My
grandfather was in WWII and my great-grandfather was in WWI. I have
more, but I cannot remember them all. On Veterans Day, instead of
seeing my grandfather, and thanking him for fighting in the war,
and going to see my great-grandfathers tombstone, I am at school and
doing my homework. A lot of people have this problem. Please give us
this day off of school and work. I hope you will consider my speech
very carefully. Thank you.
