Anne of Windy Poplars takes place between Anne of the Island and Anne's House of Dreams, when Anne is teaching high school while Gilbert is in medical school. The novel is mostly written as letters to Gil from Anne. One of my favorite parts is when Katherine Brooks changes with Anne's help after a visit to Green Gables. If you have seen the 2nd Anne movie, you will notice how some of the things are similiar to the movie. But, in my opinion, the book is sooo much better and full of more stories. Not my favorite Anne book, but one that is nice on a second reading to curl up with. |
