Wayne Carter – BIO

Wayne was born in Dayton, Ohio. His musical heritage and linage includes the famous 
Carter Family and Grand Ole Opry singer David Houston. Wayne taught himself to play 
guitar beginning at age 6. He now plays 8 different instruments. 

He is also an accomplished vocal artist for independent record label Country Discovery 
Records of Nashville, TN.. His second CD on that label garnered him a number 1 spot on 
the European Country Music Association Charts in February and March 2006.

Wayne is an award winning composer, record producer, and audio engineer. He graduated 
in 1986 from Wright State University’s School Of Music with a B.A. in communications. 
He is also a graduate of The Recording Workshop - Chillicothe, Ohio Class of 1990. 

From 1990 until 1997 Wayne was Director of Media Ministries at The Living Word Church 
in Cincinnati, Ohio. He managed the in house recording studio, coordinated and trained 18 
volunteers for the church audio-media ministry and television ministry. 

He had a column called “Sound Advice” for an audio industry magazine, “Cornerstone News”. 
This column contained both technical and Biblical information about sound and audio. 

Wayne was an instructor for Hosanna Integrity Music workshops between 1990 and 1994 
where he taught classes in audio-media. 

Wayne has been a resident of Nashville, Tennessee since 1997 and has worked with such 
artists as Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Pat Boone, Debbie Boone, The Crabb Family, 
Karen Wheaton, Dottie Rambo, The Oakridge Boys and others. 

Wayne is a freelance audio recording engineer and  has worked at many Nashville recording 
studios such as TBN’s Trinity Music City Recording Studio, Ricky Skaggs - Skaggs Place 
Recording, Bradley’s Barn,  Masterphonics, Dark Horse Studio’s and many others.
