Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Adults

Christian Education is for students of all ages - preschool through seniors. The Sunday School provides for a solid Christian Education for children, youth, and adults. Adult educational opportunities include a weekly Sunday School class, the 3rd Tuesday Soup & Salad & Bread pastor's Bible Study, and a weekly Women's Book study.

Weekly Sunday School: 10:45 -11:30 am. Sunday School Superintendent: John Plotzker, 585 223.1729, E-mail.

3rd Tuesday Soup & Salad & Bread Pastor's Bible Study: the third Tuesday of each month (except summers), starting at 6:00 pm. When school is in session, we meet in the church building and try to end by 7:30 pm. During the adult study led by pastor Todd, kids play or watch selected videos. Bring soup or salad and bread to share, place settings, and your Bible.

Women's Book Study: Sharon Boyd is hosting a weekly book study at her home. New titles appear all the time! What a great way to make new friends. Everyone is invited! Contact Sharon (315 524.9047 or Email) if you would like to join.

Are you ready for Sunday School?

Sunday School is an essential means of passing on the faith to the next generation, ensuring the health and vitality of the Church. It is a way for students, and their families, to become involved in the worship life of Zion. It is a vital mission of our church, opening our doors and hearts to the neighborhood of West Walworth.

"Sunday School - it's for life!"

"What does it take to be a Sunday School teacher," you ask? The single most important and only essential skill that is required of a Sunday School teacher is the ability to pray for your students. If you can pray, then you are qualified. Pray for your students daily. Pray with your students in every class. Pray that God will lead the lesson. Pray that God will open their lives and fill them with grace.

We expect that teachers will learn right along with their students. We expect that the curriculum that is ordered will give you all the resources and information you need to be a success. We expect that your optimism will be contagious! It is our experience that God blesses dedicated Sunday School teachers, and will help guide you - whether you are a 35 year teacher or a first year teacher.

Teaching Sunday School is a team affair at Zion. No one is left alone to fend for themselves. In fact, we discourage lone rangers! Teachers always have a back up, co-teacher, or substitute. Pastor Todd reports, " As the pastoral member of the Sunday School team, I can assure you that I pray for every teacher on a regular basis, and, if needed, I am willing to step in to be apart of any class that needs my presence. It's my role to be as near as you need me!
