show up and start destroying places in the world (Mainly Tokyo 3 later in the
story). Well, there's a guy called Gendo and his wife Yui. They come up with
a way to destroy angels. The method is Evangelions. Yui and Gendo soon have a
son named Shinji. When Shinji is 4, Yui dies and Gendo can't take care of
Shinji, so he gives him away. When Shinji is 14, he receives a letter from a
young woman, Misato, who says that his father wants to meet with him. Shinji
goes to Misato (She was waiting for him in her car. One of the funniest
scenes in an anime ^^!) They drive to NERV headquarters. NERV does research
on the Angels and Gendo owns the company. Apparently Gendo wants Shinji to
pilot an Eva, even though he doesn't know how. The only other pilot they have
found is a girl named Rei. Rei is hurt badly and can't go into battle. Shinji goes and wins
without any help. From then on, people associated with NERV and Evas call him
the famous 3rd child. 3rd because he was the 3rd child to pilot an Eva found.
There are five Evas and five 14 year old pilots. There's more to the story,
but that sums up the first episode (One of the most important) and info found in later episodes. Basically teens with Evas to save Tokyo 3.
