+Inu Yasha!+

Long ago, in Japan's era of the "Warring States", a legendary cat-demon called "Inu Yasha" attempted to steal the shikon jewel(a jewel which can fulfill the greatest dreams of any man or monster), also called the "jewel of four souls"(shikon no tama in Japanese) from a village, but was stopped by an enchanted arrow of the village priestess, Kikyo. Inu Yasha fell into a deep sleep, pinned to a tree by Kikyo's arrow, while the mortally wounded kikyo took the shikon jewel with her into the fires of her funeral pyre. She and the jewel were crimated(burned)together. Years passed(around 50 to be exact). Fast forward to the present day. Kagome, a Japanese high school girl, is pulled into a well one day(on her 15th birthday while looking for her cat, buyo) by a mysterious centipede monster(mistress centipede), and finds herself transported to the past, and comes face to face with the trapped inu yasha. she frees him, and inu yasha defeats the centipede. The residents of the village, now 50 years older, readily accepts kagome as the reincarnation of their deceased priestess kikyo, a claim supported by the fact that the shikon jewel emerged from a cut on her body (that's why the centipede was after her). Unfortunately, the jewel's rediscovery means that the village is soon under attack by a variety of demons who wants this treasure. Then the jewel is accidentally shattered by an arrow  kagome shot at the crow demon who had swallowed the jewel in order to bring it back. Even though IY hates kagome because of her resemblance to kikyo - the woman who "killed" him, he is forced to look for the shards of the jewel with kagome when kaede (kikyo's little sister, now the village priestess) puts him in a spell (with a rosary beads' necklace that makes him fall down whenever kagome says "SIT!"). Now they must look for the shattered pieces of the jewel before it gets into the wrong hands.
