Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

Bridal Attendants:

Your friendship lights my memories and warms my heart.

Being asked to be an attendant is both an honor and a serious responsibility.

As a support system for the bridal couple, bridal attendants -- maid/matron of honor, best man, bride's maids,  groom's men, and ushers -- deal with and handle the details of the wedding.

They must be capable of  multi-tasking, as their job is to squelch any potential chaos, provide emotional (and physical) support,  and keep the bridal couple in happy spirits by attending to their every whim, while having a great time, themselves.

>> Traditional tasks

Sean and Kristen sensibly picked their attendants well, as this group did an outstanding job.

Everything went smoothly, and most importantly, both bride and groom seemed totally relaxed and in the moment, enjoying their most special of days.

The Flower Girl:

Kristen's sister served as her flower girl.  By walking down the aisle preceding her big sister, she symbolized a beautiful path ahead for Kristen and Sean.

The Ring Bearer:

Dapper and poised, the ringbearer managed the pillow duties with aplomb and did a  wonderful job of delivering the goods -- the symbols of everlasting love, the rings.

The Bride:  Kristen

"Love, be true to her;
Life, be dear to her;
Health, stay close to her;
Joy, draw near to her;
Fortune, find what you can do for her,
Search your treasure-house through and through for her,
Follow her footsteps the wide world over --
And keep her husband always her lover."
~ Anna Lewis

The Groom:  Sean

"You were born together
and you shall be forevermore.

You shall be together
when the white wings of death scatter your days.

Ay, you shall be together
even in the silent memory of God.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness.

And let the winds of the heavens
dance between you."

~ Kahlil Gibran

The Maid of Honor

You two are cousins...
and you've been such good friends
for so many years.
Through the thick and thin,
the joy and the tears.

When you think back on those special days,
of the fun you had in so many ways,
think of the cousin -- your  friend --  who always knew
she'd would stand beside you when you said,
"I do".

The Best Man

You are a special someone,
As best man, you're as valued as can be,
That you mean so much to  Sean,
is clearly apparent to me.

It seems that time keeps rolling on
As endless as the tide,
Not long ago you two were two carefree guys,
Now, you're there for Sean and his bride.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Groomsman & Bridesmaid

How dear you are to them,
To have you by their side.

You must know
Your place inside their hearts,
Since on the day that they wed,
You played such special parts.

You'll always hold a special place
Of honor in Sean's and Kristen's life together..

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Flower Girl

When your big sister was just a little girl,
About the size of you,
She dreamed one day she'd fall in love
And then get married, too.

So now that  she's all grown up,
And became a bride,
She wanted you for her flower girl
To be right by her side.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Ring Bearer

One thing is surely true,
That Kristen and Sean are glad that
you were there on
The day they said, "I Do".

The memories of their wedding day
Will last from year to year.
Your presence is the loving gift
That they will hold so dear.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Mother of the Bride: Patricia

Through all Kristen's growing years,
You've been there for the happy times
As well as wiping away her tears.

And, now that she's all grown up
today a gloriously radiant bride
She couldn't have made it to this point
Without you by her side.

For though she'll start a brand new life
One thing is always true.
There's nothing that could ever change
Kristen's special love for you.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Mother of the Groom: Debbie

Your heart is filled with pride,
That of them all he chose Kristen
to be his loving bride.

She feels so very fortunate
And knows that it is true,
Sean would not be the man he is,
If it were not for you.

Debbie, you've raised a boy into a man,
A mother's job well done!
Your daughter-in-law now holds you dear,
As does, Sean, your son.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Father of the Bride: Gregory

Your little girl is all grown up
and has found a love so true,
but a special place in her heart
will always belong to you.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

The Step-Mother of the Bride

It takes a special person,
We realize when we have grown,
To take another's child
And love her like your own.

The hardest job in all the world
A stepmom has to do
Is to love, no matter what.

For all that you have done.
We know that you have helped her to be
The woman she's become.

Pearls of Marriage Wisdom

"There are only two lasting bequests
we can hope to give our children.
One of these is roots,
the other wings."
~ Hodding Carter
