ALAN GEIER SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC GROUNDS, GARDEN CITY, KS Alan, a friend and worker for the Urban Forests in Kansas is the winner of the
first Paul C. Cole, Share the Shade award presented by the KUFC
at TREE CITY USA DAY. A Kansas native, born in Garden City, he graduated from Brunnerdale
Seminary High School in Canton, Ohio. Paul graduated in 1071 from Fort Hays State College
with a Botany degree, realizing the importance of trees. In August of 1973,
he organized and was a charter member of the Garden City Tree Board. In 1988, he became
the Grounds Foreman for the Park and Zoo Department, and Liaison to the Tree Board. |
