The Kansas Forest Service again is sponsoring the National Arbor Day Poster Contest. The 2001 theme is: "Trees are Terrific . . and Forests are Too!" The contest provides a way for local tree lovers to educate their local 5th grade children, and gain some public tree awaremess via the publicity the contest generates. Currently, District Foresters are preparing and sending ourt letters of invitation to their locatl community contacts and other contacts that may be interested. As in the past, the local contact is responsible for organizing the contest in their community. If you are interested in participating and do not hear from your District Forester; locate them on the KFS web site:
