Downtown Honolulu Class Trip

Honolulu is a good place to live and study English. We can enjoy studying with many people from other countries. Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. that has a royal palace. We stated our trip there. We also saw the King Kamehameha statue. Next we went to the Judiciary History Center where we saw a list of Hawaii's laws, a museum and a courtroom. We learned that all people should be treated with justice. After that we went to the Hawaii State Capital building. It has a skylight in the roof, the state legislature, and governor's office. There is a statue of Queen Liliuokalani in back of the Hawaii State Capital. We learned alot of history about our new home in Hawaii. Please see the photo album for a picture of us in front of the King Kamehameha statue.

Our classmates discussed our personal favorite cities where we have been in the world. We chose these three cities; Kyoto in Japan, Rome in Italy and Hong Kong in China. They are traditional and famous. Please enjoy our three interesting stories.

Rome

I went a guided tour around Europe in the summer of 1992. My favorite city in Europe is Rome. Rome is the capital of Italy and one of the world's great historic and beautiful cities. It's ancient monuments, magnificent churches and palaces stand as reminders of Rome's past glory.

Sung Kang

Kyoto

Kyoto is traditional city in Japan. Kyoto has a history of more than 1200 years. The Gion Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Japan. Kyoto has many temples and shrines. The Emperor lived in Kyoto before.

Sonoko Doi

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a very exciting city. The ocean park is wonderful. Hong Kong's night lights are very beautiful. Hong Kong's buildings are very tall and fairly expensive. Hong Kong has wonderful restaurants and a very good gym.

Bogen Li

You have read all three stories about Hong Kong, Kyoto and Rome with big interest. Now you know about the oldest cities of Japan, china and Italy. All three stories were written with good skills. If you are interested, please visit these places.

Our Teacher

Our teacher is Ms. Mitchell. She is a very good teacher. She teaches us very well, and her teaching is very interesting. It is also meaningful. She is expressive, cute and cool. She loves computers.

We can learn computer very well from her. She always says, "Study, work hard, speak English." "Yes, we can!". "Don't be absent. Don't be late."
She tells us about her experiences. We can learn a lot of things and about the American spirit from her.

We are happy and lucky that she is our teacher. We love our teacher!

Our Adventures

Ocean Adventure

Four years ago my grandson and his father hunted for fish under the water near the north shore of our island. My grandson saw a small shark about 30 yards from him. He was frightened and swam towards the shore. His father prepared his gun, but the shark was distracted by something and didn't see them. It went back into the deep ocean. They were happy that everything finished well.
