Sean S. Cunningham, like his friend and colleague Wes Craven, is a man strongly associated with gory horror films. Indeed Cunningham got noticed for his work on "Last House on the Left", and if Sean wasn't around to help out, the film probably wouldn't have been made at all. So, Craven and members of the "Last House" team have quite a lot to thank Mr Cunningham for.

He is mainly a producer of feature films, and has very rarely gone behind the camera for directorial efforts. But, his directorial work does include the immensely successful "Friday the 13th", which has spawned a series so popular, that sequels are still being made today, even though Cunningham's film was released way back in 1980. He has maintained an interest in the "Friday" films, co-producing "Jason Goes to Hell: the Final Friday" as well as "Jason X". The latter of these films is the monumental tenth instalment.

A lot of his work does involve horror. He even produced the gory shocker "House" and it's three sequels. This film was even directed by "Last House on the Left" alumni Steve Miner.
Cunningham hasn't made such a major impact over recent years, but his ties with major horror film series have kept him busy - and noticed. "Jason X" is Cunningham's most recent work, released in 2002 - 30 years after making his mark with "Last House on the Left".

Sean was born on 31st December 1941, in New York. His first work in films came with "The Art of Marriage" in 1970, which he directed and co-produced. Soon after, he directed the explicit romp "Together", in which he collaborated with Wes Craven.
