Hess and Sheffler to Reunite? Posted: 25th October 2002 According to the Hollywood Reporter, Last House stars David Hess and Marc Sheffler are to reunite on Hess's latest movie project, The House in the Middle of Nowhere - which sounds like yet another Last House spin-off! They are toplining writer/director David DeFalcos similarly themed film. Hess will play a racist sheriff dealing with the kidnapping and murder of two girls by an escaped criminal gang; while Sheffler will be producing with Steven J. Bernheim. The movie is supposed to roll this month with Sage Stallone, Deborah Lacey and Chantal Berry co-starring. More news on this when it happens! |
New David Hess DVD! Posted: 25th October 2002 It's been a while coming, but the special edition of House on the Edge of the Park is coming to Region 1 DVD, on 19th December. The film, which features Last House star David Hess in the main role, is being released by New York branch Media Blasters, according to Mr Hess himself. So far, all that is rumoured about the release, is that it includes multiple theatrical trailers, interviews and photo galleries. Hopefully more will be included. More news when it happens! MAJOR NEWS: UK DVD - Extras Confirmed! Posted: 10th November 2002 The extras for the UK DVD of Last House on the Left, have been confirmed by distributor Anchor Bay. They are: an audio commentary with Wes Craven and Sean S. Cunningham, Celluloid Crime of the Century featurette, Scoring Last House with David Hess, 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage, U.S. Theatrical Trailer, German Theatrical Trailer, TV Spots, Radio Spots, Poster & Stills Gallery, Talent bios, Sex, Lies and Videotape: essay on Blue Underground's fight to get the movie passed without cuts, Night of Vengeance: excerpts from early shooting script, Tales That Will Tear Your Heart Out: exclusive first release of early unfinished Wes Craven short, starring David Hess. The audio commentary is the same one used on the US DVD, and I suspect that Celluloid Crime of the Century, is a re-packaging of the It's Only a Movie featurette on the American release. The release comes with an animorphic transfer, and runs (in it's cut form) at 82 minutes, 32 seconds. This is going to be a stuffed package, and extras-wise it is better than the MGM disc. Special Thanks to Paul Barnes |

'Hills Have Eyes' remake? Posted: 17th December 2002 It seems as if a year can't pass in Hollywood, without someone remaking a classic. Next year sees the release of the new 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', which has caused some rage among horror fans. Now there is talk of a remake of Wes Craven's follow-up to 'Last House' - 'The Hills Have Eyes', a film about murderous cannibals roaming the American outback. No concrete details have been passed out yet, though it seems likely that the flick will be made eventually. Lets just hope it's better than 'The Hills Have Eyes Part 2'. |
