A homosexual junkie-arrested with Boy George early on Saturday morning died in hospital yesterday from a drugs overdose. Mark Golding, who also used the name Mark Vaultier, was found unconscious at a flat in Bayswater, West London. He was died on arrival at St Mary´s Hospital, Paddington. It is believed he died after taking methadone - the substitute used by heroin addict. Golding, 20, was arrested early on Saturday with George - a former heroin addict - and 25 year-old musician Mark Batham. The three pals were walking home from an all-night party in Camden, North London. Substances which police say were found on all three men are now being tested. No charges have been made. George, 25, was said to be ´ deeply upset´ by the tragedy. Golding is the second of the former Culture Club star´s close pals to die from drugs ( Michael Rudetski & Trojan ) Mark thought it was his fault that Boy George got arrested, it was revealed last night. A close friend spoke to him hours before he was found dyiing. The 23-year-old girl, who asked to remain anonymous, said: ´´ He blamed himself when he came back from Albany Street police station.´´ ´´ I told him not to be silly, and that the police probably recognised George. But later I found that it was because of Mark they had been stopped.´ ´ ´ ´ He is well-known to the police, they called him ´ Big Bird´ . ´ ´ THE SUN - MONDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1986 MARK VAULTIER MENU |
