VERONICA IBARRA
bio
Veronica Ibarra’s career in art, fashion and
photography began long before her formal training at
Otis College of Art and Design in LA. In fact, as a
little girl she is said to have had a penchant for
playing with spiders as if they were lady bugs and
dazzling other children with her exquisite drawings of
witches and castles. From her early teens to early
twenties Veronica wove her way from the nightlife of
Helter Skelter to make-up and styling for tv, film and
runway. Tired of LA, Veronica brought her clothes,
make-up and camera to NYC in 2003. Life here has been
another chapter in glamming up, taking fantasies to
the extreme and serving as portraitist along the way.
She has emerged as a much sought after make-up artist
in fashion and clubland. Her impressive portfolio of
music photography includes bands from across the US
and UK . Her art photography include two gorgeous
series; “Cuentos de Hadas”, a glam/fairy tale-like
piece and “60 Avenue B”, a collection of images in
which other artists are “installed” throughout her
building in a haunting, seductive or biographical
manner. Most recently Veronica curated “Frock ‘N
Roll”, a multi media exhibition of international
artists working with music and fashion as guiding
themes. She is currently exploring the ugly, violent
beauty and the intersection between the metaphysical
realm and glamour.
