During her senior year of high school she moved to Washington D.C. with her sister while her father cared for her mother. There she flourished and began to take a more active role in her high school and was even elected vice-president by her graduating class. The following year, she was admitted to Smith College. She majored in government and became a politically active figure on her campus. In addition, her confidence and dedication began to thrive when she studied abroad in Geneva, Switzerland. Through the years she gained leadership skills, and was enthralled by the political realm.
