KESINGTON
MARKET
In ´ 81 when Le Beat Route and Cha Cha´s were at their hengt,  so was Kesington Market.  With ´50s rockabilly fashion at Rock-A-Cha,  rocker gear at Johnsons and American Retro,  and psychedelia at Sweet Charity,  Kesington Market ws not only at the forefront of street fashion but also the best place to get the latest club news and harcut.  Young designers like Rachel Auburn,  John Crancher and Judy Litman found it the best and cheapest place to sell their wares,  but by 86 cut-rate jean companies had started moving in,  and although excellent stalls still existed amongst the rag trade seconds, it wasn´t until the endo of´ 88 that the Market reasserted itself as a force in street fashion.
