Line 68. David Lay, aka "Big Valley Dave" is believed to be the son of Jesse Lay, Sr. (1745) married to Hannah Gibson. David was born abt 1765, died after 1850 in TN, married 26 March in Wilkes Co, NC to Mary Lay born abt 1770 in Virginia, died after 1850. Children: Jesse Lay b 1793/98, d 1881 - married 03 July 1846 to Sarah Shelby; Elizabeth Lay b 1804, d 2 May 1890 - m William M. Williams; Sarah "Sally" Lay b abt 1813 d 1852 - m Stephen Wood(s); John "Jack" Lay b abt 1814, d 22 Jan 1862 - m Mary Pauline O'Dell (see line 33). Line 53 merged with Line 68).
