Line 72. William and Sarah Lay(e) found to be in St. John's, Newfoundland. Later the family is in Nova Scotia and spelling as LAYE......

William Lay (1775-1853) and Sarah (Smallett?) Lay (1779-1853?) were living in St John's, Newfoundland at one time...Upon William's death, Sarah retained and rental property. She was reported to be a wealthy, lovely lady and upon her death left the family Bible with her daughter Charlotte Elizabeth(1819-1904) who had married a Richard Knight and lived then in Pouch (pronounced POOCH) Cove, Newfoundland

my g-g-grandfather:
William Francis Cole Laye(1823-?) wife 1-----Mary Grace Tibbs(1833-d NS 1872)
Albert Knight Laye (1859-?) (Cambridge, MA tenor-mx Gertrude? -two children) and
Henry William Laye (1854-1930) became pastor in C of Christ--wife 1- Mary Emlyn Hill*

(*this lady was daughter of wife 2-(mx1874) of Wm F C Laye-----Harriet (nee:Hanebury) Hill (1829-1894)
(Harriet Hill and George Clift(on) Rowland Hill family after father's death( NS1872) raised in Laye family and (e) added this generation!): -12 children including five infant deaths.

Henry William Laye and Mary Emlyn Hill family:
William George Laye (b NS 1875), Lowell Rowland Laye (b1888-IOWA-PA)...and
Henry Albert Laye, MD(b NS1879-1932)--my grandfather.....
