Personality Tests

I am attempting to create the internet's largest collection of links to personality tests. If you have a test (MB, Enneagram, Big Five, Funny, Anything) that you would like me to put up here, then let me know. Also please notify me if there are any dead links. Remember: No test is 100% accurate. Some are better than others, but there is no perfect one. Don't necessarily assume that what type the test says you are is really you. Read the description of it, (and all the others as well). Does it really feel like you? The best way to learn of your type is time and study (don't let those words frighten you).

Myers-Briggs Tests

Tests based on the sixteen Myers-Briggs types are the most popular, since the system measures surface traits and the system was designed to accomodate a test. It is recommended you take several of them, over a period of time, for the best accuracy.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - This is the Big Test. Originally developed by Myers and Briggs, it has been developed over the years, making it better. As far as I know, this is the only place where you can take it online. Other places which offer it require you to take it in person. The test is not free, but the price isn't too high ($36 is worth it by my standards). You may not need to take this test if you are very sure about your type, but even I was pretty sure of my type until taking this test. Anyone with a high interest in psychology is recommended to take this.

Keirsey Temperment Sorter II - The most popular test on the internet. 'Nuff said.

Keirsey Character Sorter - Another test designed by Dr. Keirsey, but this one has more emphasis on temperment.

Insight System's Test - This test needs to be manually scored, but takes less than 5 minutes.

DDLI - This is a downloadable test written by Fergus Duniho.

HaleOnline's Test - Another short one similar to Insight System's.

Humanmetric's Test - This one asks some different, original questions.

Socionics IPTI-2 - A different approach than the other tests. This one has you pick words which describe you, and is quite accurate.

Fudjack-Dinkelaker Function Preference Indicator - This is a more advanced test, which deals more with function theory (which was the precursor to Myers-Briggs), and some questions are difficult. However, those familiar with Jung/MB/Functions may find it satisfying.

Forever Jung - A test designed by Lenore Thompson which is quite creative in design.

Mental Muscle Diagram Indicator - A test which uses gradient choices, instead of "one or the other" ones.

AllHealth's Test - It seems to have more I/E questions than anything else, but still good.

Enneagram Tests

The enneagram is a much more difficult system to measure in test form. Since it really has to do with motivation, our enneagram type may not be readily apparent to us. The best way to learn of your type is to absorb the system, and learn to spot traits belonging to each type on the fly. You can also talk with people of different types and see who are most like you. And there is always the enneagram books that can provide detailed chapters on each individual type.

RHETI 2.0 - The most popular enneagram test around, written by the leading experts Riso and Hudson. The full length version used to be available for free, but now you have to pay for it, or get their book Discovering Your Personality Type.

Enneagram Personality Type Detector - This is a short java-based test which gives accurate results.

Tal Yarkoni's Test - A similar test to the RHETI, but this has gradiated choices.

Duniho's Test - A short, self-scoring enneagram test by the author the DDTI test.

Other Personality System Tests

Personality Self-Portrait - A test that measures the 14 types that are based on the official psychiatric disorders as listed in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th edition, with it's more known shorthand version, DSM-IV. The types were developed by Dr. John Oldham, and this system has been extensively empirically tested.

All About You's Test - This test is based on the Big Five personality areas, which is one of the most accepted means of measuring personality by psychologists. It gives you more of a personality profile than type, since it is more individualistic.

IPIP-NEO - Another test based upon Big Five. It is accurate, although it's major drawback is that it is Very long (300 questions), and even repeats some (also it sometimes focuses solely on the negative in you). But, if you have a few centuries to spend, take it.

Ansir for One - This test measures you by how you Think, Work, and Love. It gives you a brief profile of you when you are finished, but you can order an extended profile and some type matches.

DDPA - The Differential Digit Personality Assessment measures your personality by having you choose by which words suit you best.

KYKO - The Know Yourself & Know Others test is similar to the IPTI one at Socionics, in that it has you choose between words to describe yourself. Just don't come here if you're an arachnophobe.

OD-Online Personality Profile - A 50 question test which uses graduated choices.

Ronin Personality Indicator - This one has you register to be a member of their site in order to take it.

Rorshach Analyzer - You know those infamous inkblots that look like butterflies, but people see buffalos having sex with each other instead? Well this program which you can download is a test using those blots. The full version is a whopping $575 (are you THAT obsessed with learning more about your personality?) but you can download a Free demo version fortunately.

Inner Self Personality Test - This is a 60 question test which requires you to click a button after each answer.

eTest - What can I say? Another test. It asks you to choose between which words describe you best. This is a more professional one, however.

Utne's EQ Test - This test measures emotional intelligence. Personally, I think it was created for low IQ people to feel better about themselves knowing they were superior in something. But hey, whatever floats your boat. =o)

EQ Test #2 - Another EQ test, but this one is set up differently.

Platinum Rule - This measures your behaviorial style, focusing on interpersonal relations.

Charisma Test - See how charismatic you are. If you score high, maybe you could use it to your advantage...seduction, con artist, etc?

Assertiveness Test - Are you a pushy tyrant or a puny weakling? Well, what are you, punk?

Extraversion/Introversion Test - If you can't answer the question of "Are you sociable and talkative or solitary and quiet?" then you probably need to take this test.

Locus of Control Test - An interesting test which measures something creative in our personalities - what we hold accountable for our failures and successes - the outside world or us?

Optimist/Pessimist Test - "Is the glass of water half-full or half-empty?" If you can't answer that, go here.

Sales Personality Test - Your future as the next stock swindler on the evening news can be found here!

Self-Esteem Test - Are you self-confident or a depressed suicidal freak?

Social Anxiety Test - Measures if you are comfortable or anxious in social situations.

Social Quotient - Ok, if you have a low IQ and a low EQ, you can redeem yourself here. This test seems to be aimed at adolescents.

Type A Test - Just how uptight are you, anyways?

AllHealth Career Test - Would you be better as an astronaut or a zoologist? Or an astrologist and zoonaut? Whatever that is.

Anxiety Test - How much of a worry wart are you?

Fear of Success Test - Measures whether you like achieving or have a fear which inhibits you from it.

Depression Test - A Ph. D certified test which tells how depressed you are.

Empathy Test - How much do you feel for others?

Emotional Age Test - This test measures how mature you are, although it is a bit biased as people with a P preference on the Myers-Briggs scale are not as "mature" as those with a J.

Optimist/Pessimist Test #2 - Just in case the other test didn't convince you.

Stress Limit Test - Do you have a high tolerance for stress or do you succumb to it easily?

Risk Test - Are you willing to rush into adventure or proceed cautiously?

Type A Test - Do you have a highly stressed personality known as Type A? Knowing so may better your health.

Social Anxiety Test #2 - Anybody who has problems with others socially should take this test.

Fun/Humorous Tests

Intergalactic Explorer Test - Find out what role you will play in the far future!

One Question Test - Fun.

Pooh-Piglet Psychometric Personality Profiler - What? Pooh? Psychology? Yes, find out which 4 characters you are most like.

Kingdomality Test - The opposite of the IE test, it measures what role you would've been in medievel times.

Purr-sonality Test - Humans aren't the only species with personality tests, there's one for cats now!

Quizbox Tests - A collection of original tests.
