Part 4- A Friend's Reflection

Six months had passed since that day. Heero and Trowa continue their normal routines as if nothing had happened, Duo had made a full recovery, but is in a bit of denial and Quatre locked him self in his bedroom.

The sapphire-eyed boy sighed to himself as he looked out his window. This isn't fair. He didn't deserve to die.. . Not like that.. .

The door opened slightly and the American pocked his head in. "Is it okay if I enter?"

"You opened the door already, haven't you?"

Duo smirked and walked into the room. He shut the door before moving towards and sitting on the Arabian's bed. "I hate seeing so miserable, but I know how you feel."

"No, you don't. You couldn't possibly know how I feel."

"Yeah, I do. I miss him too."

The blond removed his eyes from the scenery outside and gave a questioning look to the violet-eyed pilot. "Why do you miss him? All he ever did was yell at you."

"Yeah and I miss it." he sighed sadly. "It's not like when Heero 'Perfect Soldier' Yuy does it. WuFei never threatened to kill me if I didn't shut my mouth. All he did was yell until his throat hurt and as a last resort he hit me on the head."

"And you really miss that?"

"Yes. Because I know he'll never do it again. When you weren't around, it drove me crazy cause no one would listen to me. So I barged into WuFei's room and bugged him. He always locked himself away in his room and buried nose into one of those boring books of his."

Quatre gave a sad smile as a small tear made its way down the side of his face. "I don't know why I'm so sad. After all it wasn't like we were close friends.. ."

"Don't say that! He was a friend even if he didn't show it. It's bad enough that the other two act like nothing happened. They don't care."

"Heero's right about caring. You shouldn't in time of war because the person or persons still living will be the ones who get hurt."

"Stop it. Being cold and heartless is what Heero's good at, but you, you're not like that. Don't go void on me, I couldn't stand it if I was the only 'human' left in this house." He stood from the bed and grinned. "Now come on. The two guys downstairs gave me orders to go buy some food and you're coming with me."

"I don't feel like leaving.. ."

"You are coming with me." with that he grabbed a hold of the Arabian's arm and dragged him out of the house.

* * *

A couple of hours passed. The two boys had gone out to lunch courtesy of Duo swiping the Japanese boy's credit card and had finished their grocery shopping.

While walking the busy streets the Deathscythe pilot reached into the paper bag that he was carrying and pulled out an apple.

Quatre glanced at his friend and chuckled. "Duo you just ate."

"I know and I'm still hungry." He moved the piece of fruit towards his chest only to fumble and have it fall out of his grasp and roll down the sidewalk. "Hey come back!" he took off.

"Duo, wait!" the blond took off after his companion.

The apple stopped its movement when it hit someone's foot. The person bent down and picked up the object when the violet-eyed boy ceased his chase.

"Sorry about that. It's mine, can I have it back?"

"Man you will eat anything off the ground, won't you?" the person before him commented and stood up straight.

The blond stood a few inches behind them. His eyes locked onto the person standing in front of the American. It couldn't be. But, can it? He shook himself out of his thoughts and approached the two.

Duo looked at his friend then back at the person with his food. "Who are you to question my eating habits?"

Quatre once again looked the person over. He had short black hair and blue eyes. And he wore a white button down shirt, blue jeans, black boots and a black trench coat. With one more look over, the Sandrock pilot gasped. "WuFei?" he whispered.

The boy just smirked.
