Waltz of the Moon

Disc 4 Epilogue
The sun broke through the scattered trees as a gentle, cool breeze blew by the party of seven. All of them were awake and seemed to have gotten no sleep the previous night. Ruby's eyes were set in the direction that they were to be heading in.
"Everyone, once we make our way passed these trees we will be at our destination."
"Wait." The black mage spoke with slight confusion playing in his voice, "How do you know that's where Chi has taken WuFei?"
"This where he is. Just like when you and Muru had fought each other on the Fated Plains, this valley is where your friend is being kept due to fate. Follow me."
They all complied. There were no difficulties going through the remains of the sea of trees, but once they got out they reached the edge of a cliff. The Phoenix pointed towards the valley below them. Three pillars stood in the middle of nowhere.
"This everyone, is the Valley of Moonshine."
"But I don't see WuFei anywhere." Duo announced. "All I see are a number of creepy, crawly, shadow things and four people down there." He thought about it and did a double take, "Creepy, crawly shadow things?!"
The entire group took a gander at the sight below. The redhead spotted one of the people down in the valley on his knees with an eerie glow spreading from his hands. Her red eyes widened when she heard a small whimper from behind her. "Trowa, shield Quatre. Do not let him down there."
"But-"
"Do it!"
The lancer quickly did as ordered and took his husband into his arms. The blonde's cries were muffled by the emerald-eyed boy's chest. Trowa just held him tightly, willing this 'thing' to leave the poor mage alone.
"Listen to me carefully. We must get through that portal that Treize is opening. Quatre and Trowa will remain up here, once we're through you will not like the outcome that Kamui had foretold however, you must comply. Fight to your highest of potential." She took a breath as one thought came into her mind. This will be the last time you'll see WuFei again… "Let's go!"
~~~
"Do you feel it, Yueh?" the man snorted a small chuckle, "It would appear that your friends are on their way to get you…" he held his hand up in front of his face, revealing a pale, blue mist that would be considered a looking glass.
There the summoner's friends walked. Taking every twist and turn, even just looking at it, the two males could tell that the five 'wanna be' heroes couldn't find their way.
"Why are you toying with them?" WuFei manages to whisper through gritted teeth.
"Because it's fun. Oh and to make sure that you awaken."
"No matter what I refuse to let the Moon Lord out. Why is he so important to you?"
"Didn't I say this once before? Yueh has the power to destroy the planet by calling on the Flaming Chaos."
"Flaming Chaos?"
"He's talking about a giant meteor that could not only destroy this entire world, but the Heavens as well." Replied Yueh.
"What's the point of destruction? You realize that in the end you'll parish as well."
"I know, silly boy. If I am able to destroy any existence including that of God I will be even better than your father."
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! That was a great story Chi! Now it's my turn to tell you a tale about the black mage, a paladin, the Phoenix, the Master of the Stars and the soulless fighter, Nataku. Once upon a time, there was man named Chi, who kidnapped my friend and brought him into a creepy dimension so he could bring forth the Lord of the Moon. But then myself and my three other friends set out this magical voyage to kick your" the owner voice came into view. A smirk played on his face as his violet eyes seemed a little devious. "Ass."
His companions stood next to him. From right to left stood; Mura, Ruby, Merin, Heero and Duo. The dark haired man stared in disbelief for only a moment before he chuckled. "I was going to ask how you managed to get in here, but I fail to see the use in my knowing that. For you see…" he glared at them, his eyes seemed to almost glow, "this is where your final resting-place shall be." He jumped back a few feet then started to chant something incoherently. "Come forth dragons of the elements!"
The brightly, lit ground rumbled as six large colored dragons emerged. "Hn hm… I think you now realize that I am not only a summoner, but an astral walker as well. There's nowhere you can run. Elemental Spirits, attack!"
Mizu stood firm next to its new master. Chi seemed to be pleased as he laid a hand on the water serpent. The creature never moved.
Shadow's fierce eyes caught the glimpse of the paladin. Flying through the air it landed behind Heero and a large talon came down to restrain him. Noticing the shadow's movement he jumped back and fired a light elemental bullet that hits its target right in the left eye.
A scream echoed through the dead space. WuFei's left eye was now bleeding, but he continued to watch his friends.
The fire dragon took flight and hovered over the party. A large fireball seemed to be forming in its mouth as it set its eyes on Mura. The gigantic ball of flames came roaring down, but with a swift and lucky move on the Star Master's part, she escaped without a singe.
Heero fired another shot at the black dragon, this time landing the blow in the creature's large neck. As fast as his legs could carry him he began to run to his friend's side. Now catching sight of the blood that was seeping from his neck.
Aisu and the earth dragon, Gaia blocked the passageway of the Phoenix, charging their energies together they each formed a giant ice lance and rock spike. Plunging them upon Ruby who managed to melt the ice, but was roughly brought down under the force of the rock spike.
Within that time Merin managed to make it over to Chi and the water dragon. The violet-eyed man laughed as he recognized her face. "Nice to see you again." He waited for reply, but didn't receive one. "Ah, are you mad that I killed you?" While the idiot Romefeller General was making his wise cracks, the fallen summoner landed two quick and hard blows to the man's head, which caused him to lose his touch on the creature and fall on his butt.
"I was never angry with my death." She said in a low, monotone voice. "However I cannot forgive you for hurting my husband…" Merin brought her right hand to the dazed water spirit. Nuzzling into the touch the dragon vanished.
Duo placed his hand on the blade of his scythe, surging it through with electric energy. His violet eyes set on Aisu, "Lighting Blade Strike!" he threw the weapon out, but the dragon just batted it away and sent it back at the mage, who ducked just in time not to get his head sliced off.
Mura swung the moon pole around, letting the blade fly with its chain. Hitting the exact spot she was hoping for, broke the spike, allowing Ruby to get to her feet. The firebird now enraged, spread her flaming wings, jumped into the air then brought her right hand up, then down again causing a rain of fire on the two dragons who had attacked her.
Both legendary summons roared in pain as the flames seeped into their necks, wings, etc. Heero finally made it over to the now wounded summoner.
"Hold it." Everyone looked to Chi, who had his arm around Merin's neck and his other hand in front of the seven pointed star that was located on the girl's bandana. "I told you, you can't run. And like before, this lovely bitch will be my first victim…" he inched closer to the mark.
~~~
Up in Heaven, Kamui watched through parted clouds alongside him was Celestia. Tears streamed down the woman's cheeks as she buried her face into the young man's shoulder. "I can't watch anymore…"
"I know." He embraced her. "I know…"
~~~
"Don't touch her!!!" a circle of energy formed around WuFei as it had done many times before, but this time it engulfed him. Heero fell backwards, but landed in his koibito's arms. Everyone watched the light fill the room. All of the dragon's vanished including the only one not to fall under the command of Chi. The one the raven-haired summoner called 'Nataku'.
A small shatter was heard as the shards of Merin's mark drifted to the ground. Her dark eyes came back with feeling and emotion within them. Swiftly she managed to escape the man's grip and move closer to the light. "WuFei?!"
"I'm sorry, Merin." Said a voice that wasn't her husband's. The light dimmed and before them stood a man with shoulder length turquoise hair and aqua eyes. "WuFei is asleep now…"
"Yueh…" Mura whispered, not believing her own eyes.
"At last, the son of KaiRyu has become just like his father. Now Yueh," Chi advanced closer, unafraid of what the Moon Lord might do. "as the cause of your awakening I want you to destroy this planet and everything that goes with it."
"I'm afraid not." Stated the easygoing soldier. Bending down he picked up Duo's scythe. "For you see just because it's your fault that I woke up from my nap" he stood before the other man. "doesn't mean that you have control over me. Because if you did I wouldn't do this." He brought the weapon out in a slashing motion, but Chi jumped back avoiding the swipe.
"So that's how you'll play?"
Ruby's eyes widened, "Treize?"
Mura looked at her out of the corner of her eye, "What about him?"
"He's gone, but…" she glanced over to the opening of the portal, which remained open. "Quatre…" she whispered.
Yueh smirked at the Romefeller General's sarcasm. "The winner of this game will be the last one standing…"
"Fine then." He pulled out a spear. "This is the end of the legend of the Lord of the Moon." He lunged forward with a thrust which Yueh dodged with very little effort.
"Are you kidding me?" he leaped up and came down, preparing for a heavy blow that struck the general on the should, almost cutting through the bone. "Ruby, get out of here. You and everyone else."
The redhead nodded and everyone followed, except for the purple haired girl. Bringing out her moon pole yet again, she launched the blade and chain out to wrap itself around Chi.
Mura held onto the chain with a death grip as Yueh stared at the young woman. I recognize that technique with that pole… "Muru?" he whispered.
Ignoring the soft voice of her rightful life-mate, she released her grip on him then once the weapon was linked together again stabbed through the violet-eyed man's mid section. Yueh couldn't believe his eyes now. Not questioning right off he picked up the body and left the place of WuFei's imprisonment.
The two walked out of the mist and onto the valley. The Moon Lord threw Chi's body onto the ground, then faced the girl who fought along side him. "Muru?"
"Yes." She slapped him in the shoulder. "Never do that to me again!"
He smiled, "Yes, Dear."
"Whipped, Yueh. Whipped." Ruby moved away from the group with the body of the OZ leader in her arms. "Let's go home everyone."
"Wait!" Quatre shouted from the small group. "You're just leaving like that? What about-"
"I'm sorry, Quatre." Said Mura, without looking back on the sad faces of her friends. "But he's not here. Go back to your normal lives and that includes you, Merin. When that crest broke you gained another chance at life, it's better to live life the way it's meant to be and not waste it."
"How can you say that?!" the female summoner screamed. Tears ran down her face. "My life is with my husband! You can't expect me to go back to the way things were if he's not here at my side!"
"Merin." Yueh spoke up, a hint of sadness resided in his voice, "WuFei lived for you, now you can do the same for him. I am sorry, you know. This wasn't what he wanted either… But know this, Mrs. Chang, WuFei will always love you…" with that the three Soldiers of Heaven vanished as if they were never there at all.
The days went by and turned into months. Though still going through the hard time of losing their friend, Quatre and the other boys managed to get their lives back together. While the three remaining members of OZ, along with Merin, work as the royal guards in Vishira.
Melody had fully recovered from her little fainting spell and sat on her throne. Footsteps echoed as shoes his the floor, Merin stood before one of her queens and bowed. "You wished to see me?"
"Yes. You and I really hadn't gotten the chance to talk on a personal level."
"With all do respect there isn't really much to discus."
"Even so. I want to be close to you because we are family."
"Majesty Melody!"
The queen's dark eyes left those of her sister-in-law and landed on the messenger that had come dashing in. "What's the matter?"
"Howard and Hilde have returned with Peacemillion."
"Did something happen to Kirin?"
"No, she is still in Momoiro, however she and Quatre have requested that you and Lady Merin go with Howard back to Momoiro."
"Why would they do that?" the summoner questioned under her breath.
"Very well. Merin and I will be out in a few moments."
"Ma'am." The young man bowed then left.
~*~*~*
The large airship landed and the two girls got off. Quickly, but gracefully they headed towards the castle. The blue haired queen stood in front of the large doors and beside her was Duo.
"Glad to see that our message reached you." Kirin spoke, but tried to hide her smile.
"What was so important that we had to come all the way out here?" Merin asked.
"Step inside. You're not going to believe it." The black mage grinned, knowing the truth behind his words.
The four entered the palace, making their way to the throne room. They stopped at the sight of the two kings who stood in front of their thrones. Heero went over to the arriving group and took Duo to the side of the room by his hand.
"Kirin, tell me, why did you request us to come here?" her wife questioned.
Kirin's emerald eyes lit up as she pointed to the hallway just to the left of the thrones.
The two other females followed the pointing finger and heard footsteps from the hall. Tears immediately ran down Melody's face as she set her eyes on her brother. "WuFei!" she shouted then jotted over and embraced him. And for the first time he returned it.
After pulling back, the raven-haired boy gazed at his wife. He chuckled softly as he witnessed her trying to hold back her tears. Merin couldn't control herself any longer, she just ran over to her husband and held him tightly. She cried as she hit him on the shoulder. "You jerk! You stupid, jerk!"
He placed his arms around her too, tear droplets fell from his onyx eyes. "I missed you too…" he whispered.
~~~
Kamui smiled as he gazed down on them. "I did not see that coming at all."
"Maybe your not as powerful as you may have thought."
"Celestia, I can see all and I know all. I feel the reason I didn't find out about Yueh's request was because I wanted to surprise my self."
"Think what you want." The sea-blue haired girl turned to Mura and Yueh, who were sitting down next to the parted clouds and the Moon Lord seemed to have fallen asleep in his husband's lap. "This is okay, right Kamui?"
"Yes. Once Ruby has found the wandering soul of Chi and destroys it all should be at peace."
So far and away we seem
There is nothing more precious
Than the ones most dear to you
Looking back I see
That all along you were right
As I continue reminiscing
I let my guard down with one small tear
In hope that you forgive me
Looking deep within
I try to see the man inside
The one I swore to myself to love and protect
All I can see is sorrow from the past…
Keeping with my gaze I see
I am the cause of all your pain…
Looking back I see
That all along you were right
As I continue reminiscing
I let my guard down with one small tear
In hope that you forgive me
A second chance is all we need
With one more tear
With full hope that it is one of joy
And no regret
******Instrumental Part******
Looking back I see
That all along you were right
As I continue reminiscing
I let my guard down with one small tear
In hope that you forgive me
The fight is over
For us it is one more chance at life
With so many obstacles to over come
What's one more
I refuse to run
I refuse to hide
For this is fate
The one we've wanted all along
Embracing each other
Let's grasp onto the future
Kamui shot straight up from his bed, sweat dripped from his brow. He wiped it away, glanced to his side and sighed in relief seeing that his beloved Celestia was still there. Quietly he got out of bed and walked out of the main building of Heaven. Only hitting a few steps he saw a battered Phoenix. "Ruby!"
"Lord Kamui… I'm sorry…"
He ran down from the stairs and stopped before her. "I know. I saw the whole thing."
"What are we going to do?"
"Find a way to destroy those relics and then get rid of those two people once and for all."
