FAQs
What do we offer??
Alphabet recognition- through weekly 'passwords' and other activities the children are introduced to all the letters of the alphabet and their sounds
Number and Counting The 'passwords' and calendar activities help the children recognize numbers, learn number order, and count objects.
Library and Reading- Due to the success of our Butter Braid Fundraiser we have set up a library with over 200 books which the children may check out for a week at a time.
Outdoor Activities- Our facility provides a fenced in yard with swings, slide, sand toys, balls and space to run and play.  We also take walks around the neighborhood and occasionally do activities at the park.
Nutritious Snacks- Not only do children receive nutritous snacks, they also learn about healthy foods.
Creative Art- children are encouraged to experiment with the different mediums we offer.  Creativity  is encouraged.  We believe that ART IS A PROCESS, NOT A PRODUCT.
Christian Values-  God and Jesus are always welcome in our preschool.  Our regular schedule includes prayer before snacks/meals.  We hear Bible Stories such as Noah's Ark, The Christmas Story, The Easter Story as well as learning that God made us and gave us many things in nature.
Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP)We plan activities that are on the right level for preschool children. These include hands on activities, creative and expressive arts, science experiments and real life learning experiences.

Caution : The "competition" claims to use developmentally appropriate practices, yet they send home packets of worksheets for 'homework'
A difference in DAP classrooms is the way which textbooks and work sheets are used. In traditional classrooms printed materials are the primary source of instruction.  In a DAP classroom children learn through materials that are concrete, real and relevant to their lives.
