Eleanor Arnold Paxton
Eleanor Arnold was born in Harrison County, Missouri Dec 27, 1852. Died at her home in Parnell, Missouri March 22, 1918, aged 65 years, 2 months and 23 days. She was united in marriage May 31, 1870 to John N. Paxton. To this union was born 11 children, 5 boys and six girls.
Two of the boys namely Eddie and Ernie died in infancy. The nine that survive all of whom were present at the funeral are Carry Rippy, of Willow Spring’s Missouri, May Harris of Parnell, Missouri, Gertrude Kemberling of Benton, Iowa, John Paxton Jr. of Henry Nebraska, Lewanda McKim of Dallas, Iowa.Sadie McKim of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. and Wallace and Lorn of Parnell, Missouri, who have given all of their time for the last two years caring for their mother.
In the year 1890 the deceased confessed her faith in Christ and united with the Church of Christ at Oxford, Missouri, during the ministry of J. H. Coffey. Since then she has lived a quiet consecrated Christian life, an unselfish life, a life of sacrifice for others. She was also a devoted wife and tender loving mother. During the 8 years of her suffering and sickness she was always patient and kind willing to wait for the crown.
Besides her companion and nine children she leaves to mourn her loss 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild 4 brothers and two sisters.
Gone home mother, gone to that long sweet, happy rest, though we shall miss thee, but we long to meet three, when we are called to rest.
The funeral service was held at Oxford, Missouri March 25, 1918 by Charlie e. Graham, and the remains lay to rest in the cemetery at the same place.
The bereaved ones have the sympathy of friends in this hour of sorrow.
John W. Paxton

John W. Paxton, son of John N. and Elnora(sic), was born February 15, 1884 in Worth County,Missouri, and departed this life near Sidney, Iowa, April 6, 1927, ages 43 years, 1 month and 18 days. He lived in Worth County to the year 1900, when he moved to Torrington, Nebraska, where he located on a homestead and engaged in the contracting business until 1925 when he moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where he has since made his home. He was united in marriage to Addie Royce in 1912. To this union was born four children: Deva, who died in infancy; Irene, aged 10; Billie aged 8; and Wayne, aged 6, who survive him. His mother preceded him a few years ago. Besides his wife and three children he leaves to mourn his departure, his father, two brothers, six sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Paxton lost his life while working on a water main ditch near Sidney, Iowa. He was down in the ditch when it caved in on him, and when he was taken out it had been found that his neck had been broken.
He was converted in early life, and united in the Christian Church but later transferred his membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a good father, devoted husband and well spoken of by those who knew him best.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at Parnell, Mo. April 9th, conducted by Charlie E. Graham, assisted by Rev. Andy James pastor of the Parnell M.E. Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery.
The hymns sang for the occasion were "It Will Be Well With My Soul," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Rock Of Ages." The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the many friends. May the Father in heaven richly comfort and bless them, and gently lead them home to him.
Sarah Paxton
Sarah Ann Paxton, daughter of Joseph and Levica Paxton was born in Saline Co, Missouri. 15 Sept, 1839 and departed from this world at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Olive Whittington St. Joseph, Mo, 5 Feb 1920 at the age of 80 years 4 months and 21 days.
In 1860 she was united in Marriage to Benjamin Jones who served in the Civil War and died in 1865 while home on furlough. To this union were born two sons and one daughter. N. C. Jones of Kellerton, Iowa, Mrs Rosa Huff Grant City,Mo. Surviving about one year after death of her forst husband she was married to Rolan Huff, to this union were born eight children; Mrs Mary White and Mrs Whittington, both of St. Joseph, Mo. Mrs. Dora Judkins of Aberdeen S. Dakota.
Mr Huff died 13 March 1916 since which time Mother Huff has lived with one children and then another. She had lived in or nearby Parnell and Oxford for perhaps more than half of her lifetime. Besides her five living children and forty eight grandchildren she leaves a multitude of friend who had come to love her much because of the fine quality of her life.
She confessed faith in Christ as a girl at the age of fourteen years and joined the Baptist Church January 3,1911. She transferred her membership to the Methodist Church in Parnell. She maintained her Christian faith through all. She was a faithful Wife, a devoted mother and helpful neighbor. She is spoken of as a woman of fine Christian Faith.
The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Parnell, Mo, and Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. E.S.T. Doren the Pastor officiating and the body laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery. All five children as named above were in attendance at the funeral services.
Luvada Belle (Paxton) McKim

Mrs.’s Belle McKim died in Pryor, Okla. She was the mother of Claussen McKim who was pastor of Southview Christian Church in Lincoln for during that period she served as Church secretary of Southview.

Added note: She was also the pianist for the family held revival at  McKim family reunion was held at the home of Ezra’s cousin. “Tilly” McKim, probably 1933, with dinner served “on the guest of honor of this family group.
