TOURS OF LISBON

LISBON TOUR A half day tour to discover Lisboa. A drive  to Rossio, the very heart of the city. Alfama, the oldest and most picturesque quarter (stop for a wine tasting in an handicraft store). Then a drive along the River-Side to admire Black Horse Square, Crossing the Bridge Over the Tagus  with stops at Belém Tower and at Monument to the Discoveries. Next a visit to Jerónimos Monastery (visit church, one of the most beautiful churches in Europe) and to the Coach Museum (the world's largest collection of coaches) (both closed on Mondays, replaced by Ajuda Palace or Fundação Medeiros).

ESTORIL COAST AND SINTRA TOUR Sunny Coast and its beaches. Cosmopolitan Estoril, the colourful Bay of Cascais, with Cascais beaches and the picturesque cliff - Boca do Inferno, Guincho. Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point of Europe (stop from 1st April to 31 October). Drive across the luxuriant Sintra Mountain and its gardens to visit the charming Vila Palace (the most ancient of all royal palaces in Portugal) (closed on Wednesdays - visit to Queluz Palace).

OBIDOS, ALCOBACA, NAZARE, BATALHA, FATIMA TOUR One of the best of Portugal tours. Travel northwards and arrive at the beautiful walled town of Obidos with picturesque streets. Then drive to Alcobaca to visit the 12 th century Church of Alcobaca Monastery. Lunch in Nazare - The most colourful of Portuguese fishing villages. Visit to Batalha Monastery, and finally to Fatima - Centre of christian faith and a local of world pilgrimage. Religious services can be attended.

FATIMA HALF DAY TOUR Sanctuary and Basilica where there are the tombstones of Jacinta and Francisco. Chapel of Apparitions, heart of the shrine. Time to attend mass. Aljustrel, stop visit of the houses where Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia were born. Valinhos, visit the place where Our Lady of Fatima appeared for the 4th time on 19 August 1917. Loca do Anjo, visit the place where the children, Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia, got for the 1st and 3rd time the apparition of the Angel.

EVORA TOUR Drive across the world's largest cork region for an exciting journey into the past. In Evora, capital of Alentejo, visit the Roman Temple, the Romanesque Gothic Cathedral, the Bones Chapel of saint Francis church and the University. A walk along its streets will help you to enjoy this typical town considered World Heritage (lunch included in Evora). Leaving Evora and travel back to Lisbon going through Setubal, famous fishing centre (stop).

COIMBRA TOUR By the Northern motorway we reach Coimbra (stop), a charming university town. Coimbra is famous for the Church of Santa Clara (visit). After lunch (included) followed by a visit to the main buildings of Portugal's oldest university, the library, the chapel and senate room. Finally a walk along the old streets to visit the cathedral. After free time travel back to Lisboa.

ARRABIDA, SESIMBRA, SETUBAL TOUR Cross the bridge over the Tagus, and have a superb view of Lisbon. Visit the old Castle of Sesimbra and admire the beautiful scenary of this fishing town of Sesimbra. Azeitão - a visit to a famous wine cellar to sample the local wines. Visit a handicraft centre to admire its hand-made glazed tiles. Arrábida mountain - a unique nature reserve giving a breathtaking panoramique view over Setúbal and Tróia. Stop at Pousada do Castelo in Palmela. Travel back to Lisboa by Vasco da Gama bridge.
