GROUND IVY  Nepata glechoma

Also known as:  Alehoof.

Ground Ivy is a wild plant found in the Eastern States and the Pacific Coast. The herb is used to relieve inflammation of the mucous membranes in colds, bronchitis and sore throat.

  
Common use: Relieves inflammation of mucous membrane; appetite stimulant; indigestion; hypoacidity.
A decoction of Ground Ivy serves as an appetite stimulant and a digestive aid; added to baths it is said to be good for sciatica and gout. It is also reported for liver ailments, diarrhea, inflammation of the intestines and in poultice form, combined with the herb Yarrow, it can be applied to abscesses.
