More of Bill's Marvelous Mansion
This 1,500-square-foot theatre includes plush chairs, and a popcorn machine. Gates just pops in a DVD and has a buttery bowl of popcorn to relax after a hard day of making millions.
The 1,900-sqaure-foot area of offices is used by Gates for conferences, meetings, and it is also an enormus computer room.
Fairly distant from the heart of the mansion itself, the almost completely underground guest-house is used by Gates as a retreat when nobody is staying in it. In fact, Gates used this 1,900-sqaure-foot guest house, complete with fireplace, bathroom,, and a bedroom, to write his book, "The Road Ahead."
The underground garage is built completely underground (hence the name), and is about 6,300- sqaure-feet. It can easily hold ten or more cars. This structure made completely of concrete and stainless steel resembles a cave and, strangely, some of the concrete is intentionally broken for that "deconstructive" look.
The 900-square-foot activities building is directly beside a multi-sport court, two putting greens, and two boatdocks (not shown in picture). Originally, there was a house at this location and it was removed from the locaion by barge.
