		Good God. I sit down to try to write all about this blessed event, and words cannot express it. Maybe that's why it's been a long time coming; I've tried to find the words that just aren't there. As most of you know, Luke & I got ENGAGED on New Year's Eve!!!!!!!! (And everyone we know lets out their collective breath.) Even though no one believes me, it did come as a total surprise to me. A GOOD surprise, but a surprise nonetheless. And I won't bore you with the details -- partly because I don't want to bore you, and partly because they are MY details, and I'm holding on to them a bit longer -- but I'll tell you I just couldn't be happier. \ My mom asked me like three years ago if I thought Luke & I would end up together, and I told her yes. "How do you know," she asked? You just do. It's not very hard. It's like, you wake up and KNOW that you want cereal for breakfast. Or you KNOW you want to wear your favorite blue shirt today. You just know exactly what you want. You hardly have to think about it. From day one, there's never been a doubt in my mind. I met Luke and I just knew. Three days after we got together, I told him, "Luke, honey, I don't mean to scare you, but I think I'm going to marry you." At that point, we'd known each other all of about a month. It just makes sense. Luke is smart where I'm dumb. He's funny where I'm serious. I can't imagine anyone I'd rather go through this with.
