After enlisting during 1776 under Captain Gordon, Colonel John Liles and General Richardson, he was on the Snow Campaign.  He was on the Florida Expedition and in the battle at Stono.  He was then under Gordon, Liles and General Pickens at the battle of Camden.  He went to North Carolina and served under Captains John Liles, Henry Liles, Colonel James Liles and General Sumter.  He served under Captain Kelly and Colonel Waters from 1 October 1781 to 26 February 1782.  He was in the battles at Rocky Mount, Hanging Rock, Fishing Creek, Blackstocks Plantation and Cowpens.  His unit remined at Cowpens battle site in charge of the dead and wounded.  He then marched to Earle’s Fort and remained there for 2 years. 
(He moved to TN and then to AL.


MARCUS LITTLETON
Fifth Regiment on 11 June 1776.
He served in the militia under Capts John Liles, Edward Kelly, Henry Liles and Col. Waters during 1780, 1781, 1782 and 1783.

After the battle at Moore’s Creek he enlisted under Capt. aCouncil.  He was recruited under Harrington.  After marching to Haddrell’s Point, he joined Major Horry, Colonel Horry and General Armstrong the day before Sir. Peter Parker’s fleet entered Charleston Harbor.  He was in the battle of Hanging Rock.  The he was under General Gates and Major John Speed and was then taken prisoner shortly after Gates’ defeat.; but he was paroled.  He re-enlisted and served as aa corporal and sergeant.  (moved to GA, KY, TN and AR)
