1. Jenel WinterMy great-grandfather Herman Eugene Winter (November 20th 1886-March 1965) came from Germany.
His father was a captain of a German U-boat and he (Herman) had 8 older sisters. After coming to Cook County, Illinois (alone) he married an Elenore or Lidwine Glaser/Glazer and/or a Cherokee woman.
Among their children were Alfred (October 16th 1922-January 31st 1998) who may have been the son of a Jewish man, Gertrude, Rudy, Eddie, Evelyn, and my grandfather Emil Herman Winter. Emil married Elizabeth Anne Sohlman (unsure of spelling) who was from Winsconsin. They had David, Diane, John
(my father) and James.I know this line is broken and it doesn't go back very far but I was hoping it may be of some use to someone, and maybe I will find more information on it. So please, if someone would like to contact me, my e-mail address is sayei@hotmail.com.

Edward Wintercame from Germany in 1851, since he was 6 at the time I believe he probably came with his parents. He married Lena ( possibly Wendt in 1868 or 69) from Illinois. Together they settled in St. Louis, Mo. and had 9 children Charles (maybe Carl) Herman, Oscar, Louis, George, Joseph, Ollie (might be Olive or Olivia ) and Emilie. I would like to find out about his parents and any siblings he had.
Do I have any cousins out there?
Thank you,
Michelle

My GGGgrandparents were William WINTER and Ester PLACE (both born and died in Canada). My GGgrandparents were Charles Wesley WINTER, Sr. (b. 1845, Canada; d. 1923, Hickman Co., TN) and Beckie Sophia CATER (b. 1850, NY; d. 1926, Old Hickory, TN). My Ggrandparents were Charles Wesley WINTERS, Jr. (b. 1875, MI; d. 1959, Rutherford Co., TN) and Maggie Myrtle HOLLAND (b. 1887, Humphreys Co., TN; d. 1954, Hickman Co., TN).
Is anyone researching this line? I was in touch with another researcher a couple of years ago who gave me a list of William and Ester's children. The info was lost due to a harddrive crash. If anyone knows anything about William WINTER and Ester PLACE, I would love to hear from you.
Also, I know nothing further on William WINTER or Ester PLACE--other than their names. Any connections out there? Thank you in advance!

I have no information about the wives and families.
I have nothing on Frederick Winter that went to South America.
There were originally 2 sons that left Germany and came into Russia. They were sons of Peter Winter. Of which very little is known at this time, his 2 sons were Peter and Jacob.
JACOB G. WINTER Sr. - The youngest in the family and the only one to come to USA, went to Oklahoma for a very short time then on to Windsor Co, This is the "UNCLE JACOB WINDER" to George Steinert. The spelling was changed to have the pronunciation closer to the spelling VEENder. After a while there were too many Winders to change them all back to Winter. They are the same family origins from Peter in Germany. Jacob became a very successful Sugar Beet famer and owned his farm outside of Windsor, Co. And had cousins from Oklahoma visit him on occassion, my Great Grandfather Leonhart Winter and even my Grandfather John L. Winter.

I am looking for information on Harry Winter and his descendants. He is my paternal grandfather. All I know is that he lived in St. Clair County, Illinois in the 1920's and worked for the railroad with my maternal grandfather, William Toothaker. William and Inez Toothaker's daughter, Virgie (born April 2, 1911), gave birth to my mother, Otha Harriet Toothaker, on December 30, 1926. Harry Winter was Otha's father. At the time, he was about 33 years old and was married with 2 children. Their names were never revealed to my mother. Harry and William both lost their jobs with the railroad during the depression. My mother was told that Harry and his wife later divorced. My mother, Otha, is now deceased. I am continuing her quest to find out any information on her father and his family. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

21. Amy SandersI am seeking information on the Winter family. I am only indirectly connected to the Winter name.
My Father ‘s first wife was a woman named Amelia Romain Winter ( Sanders), She was born: May 18,1900 and Died February 24-25 (?),1937 in NYC. ( Her Funeral services held at All Saints’ Protestant Episcopal Church, Middle Neck Road and Steamboat Road, Great Neck ,Long Island)This is information taken from New York Times Feb 24 or 25 1937. - Amelia had a younger sister who died earlier in her teens. Each of the sisters died under very tragic circumstances. Amelia was also an artist—commercial artist? Greeting cards , etc That is all I know- I believe she also had an uncle in Boston. ( fairly wealthy family) I have one picture of her.. and have tried to find connections to her in New York. I would like to find the name of her parents.. I am assuming that perhaps she is buried at a cemetery at this church or near by.
Thank you in advance for any referrals or ideas you might have to assist me with my research.
Looking for any information on nathaniel winter, born lynn, massachusetts about 1908.
