Be Careful What You Get

Life is like a balance of what you get
and what you don't ~
what you receive
and what you give.
What I ask for is simply not much.
I ask for a good life,
a good day, a good friend ...
or just something
that pleases me ~
maybe a toy to use
or a person to be with.
I don't ask for very much.
If you want everything in the world,
that's too bad - just don't be selfish.
Not everything you want
may be good for you.
Actually,
you might want something else,
for instance.
I asked for things I wanted
but I didn't like it,
the next thing I know.
So be careful
what you get
because it might not suit you.
