We Are America

Why light a candle,
Why fly a flag?
When people are missing,
What good is that?



Our grief makes us stronger,
We are united in tears.
We are One Nation
The terrorists should fear.



There is no comprehension,
Of what happened here.
Yet love overwhelms us,
And our strength is quite clear.



We trust in our God,
We gather to pray,
Our strength has grown stronger,
In a beautiful way.



So we’ll wave our flag,
And we’ll sing through our tears,
Because we are America,
The greatest country there is.
