In the beginning there was a joyous event I was bestowed upon you with open arms You received me with yearning desire Pretty dresses, ribbons and bows
I was your daughter, when I was small You cautioned me to be careful You picked me up when I fell down Placed me back on the path
You answered my questions You gave me the best advice But as stubborn as I was I didn't always listen But you were always there and right
Endlessly every mistake I said was my last You knew better learning from my mistakes You still loved me, encouraged me to try again I gave you grief, You gave me love and guidance
With a pure an honest heart silently you prayed For someone to watch over me and keep me safe For I was unique and unconditionally different I knew I could always count on you
No matter what you were there to set me straight Mother so many times I would say to myself My mother was right why didn't I listen So for being there Thank you I Love You
