ANTHONY PRICE
FASHION SHOW AT CAMDEN PALACE - JUNE 1983
A truly  thearical performance,  thye show consisted of thirteen independent scenes.  The first began with the stirring opera music and space-age outfits.  a more light-hearted image was the 'Tamed West',  a cowboy and three sallon bar girls mimed and danced to music from an old 1950's western film.
Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh look-a-likes,  from the film 'Gone with the Wind'  also made an appearance in superb romantic costumes reminiscent of the period.
The clothes were fantasy rather than fashion,  the silhouettes were strong. Shoulders were massive and hips were slim.  Favourite details were strapless,  laced bodices, fine pleating,  zips and bat-wing sleeves.
Anthony Price's intention to inject life and glamour into the British Fashion Industry certainly seemed to be a  success in the night.  ( Michelle Langley  /  pics by Adrian Fiebig )
