| STEAL BEYOND CONSUMPTION Most activists who desire change use the method of stealing as an act against the present capitalist economy. Stealing not only (if only symbolicly) disrupts the current economy but also requires (at least partially) free will and direct disobedience towards the social barriers and fear that was imposed on us by the authorities. Anarchy, the state of utmost freedom as well as rebellion against the present authoritarian system fits well with the act of stealing. But beyond such acts is a danger by anarchists who steal only because they are anarchists, and thus believe it as a necessary act- which fits clearly into the role of a rebel. (and thus expected and accepted within the system) which unfortanately is accetpted in the capitalist system rather than an act of revolt against the present system. It merely becomes acts of repetition, rather than acts of living, breathing, alive insurrection- which can only happen not because one believes oneself to be a rebel, but the true desire to live free, to go beyond acts of outer consuming, but stealing back our inner; to destroy the social barriers in ones self, to steal back the passion and emotion that was lost within this society- by attacking the present social order through our desires to be free. |
