eventually lead them to worldwide success. Their early albums High Voltage and Let There be Rock started them off on a good note, featuring "The Jack," "TNT," and "Problem Child." But it was 1979's Highway to Hell that opened the doors of superstardom to them. Shortly after release date, Bon Scott was claimed to have drunk himself to death. It was a tragic loss for AC/DC, but they had to move on. Brian Johnson replaced Bon, and Back in Black, the band's first album with Johnson, was very successful. It featured "Back in Black," "Hells Bells," and "You Shook Me All Night Long" and later went on to sell 16 million copies nationwide. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, For Those About to Rock, and Who Made Who highlighted the eighties, spawning many hits. The band went on big tours and became a household name by now. The Razor's Edge's "Thunderstruck" became a hit in 1990. Throughout the past 10 years, AC/DC continued to rock with Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip. |
