Def Leppard was probably one of the best and most successful hard rock bands of the 80s. Formed in the late 70s in the U.K., Def Leppard band members include: Joe Elliot (lyrics), Steve Clark (guitar), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), and Rick Allen (drums). Their first albums High 'n' Dry and On Through the Night got the band off to a good start with the hit songs "Rock Brigade" and "Bringin on the Heartbreak." But it was 1983's Pyromania that got them headed in a successful direction. It featured four singles ("Photograph," "Too Late," "Foolin," and "Rock of Ages") and has sold 9 million copies. When Allen lost his arm in a motorcycle accident, things didn't look good for the band. He got a new electric drum kit, though and in 1987 the band released Hysteria. This one was even more successful including "Rocket," "Love Bites," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Hysteria" and "Animal." In 1991, guitarist Steve Clark tragically died, but the band had to move on. In the nineties Def Leppard released Adrenalize, Retro Active, and Slang. These albums weren't as successful as their eighties albums, but songs like "Lets Get Rocked" and "When Love & Hate Collide" highlighted the albums. Though many problems faced Def Leppard, they still continue to rock and make their fans happy. |
