(IMAGE NO.36)Page 27? above was part of a report of the study made by TRW Corp. for the U.S. DOT.--- TRW was assigned the contract . The three BI-MODAL systems above were the MARCO SYSTEM (mine), STARRCAR, and URBMOBILE.The arrow above points to "MARCO SYSTEM" -- 'Electromechanically suspended and propelled individually owned automobiles offering conventional automobile characteristics on the street and claiming speeds up to 300 mph in a tube type of guideway.' I.E.- The only dual mode MAGLEV system concept existing at that time. It prompted newcomers to now steal the idea and run. GOOD LUCK !!(cont) |
(IMAGE NO.37 Above are more specs of MARCO(mine),STARRCAR,And URBMOBILE. Here's what MARCO specifications were --Guideway type: TUBE,--Propulsion system: E-M REPULSION--Suspension:ELECTRO-MAGNETIC--Control: CENTRAL COMPUTER--Performance: 300MPH--Capacity:16000 Veh.PH (inserted 10 feet apart@ 30 MPH)--Street Mode: CONVENTIONAL AUTO (preferably EV)safer in the system......BELOW IS THE CONDENSED TEXT (7 pages)including some sketches forwarded the U.S.DOT in early 60s. (IMAGE NO.46 Above)The Fig.1 shows how the vehicles are automatically inserted in the system. First each vehicle is inspected for safety if not it goes to a reject ramp telling why it failed. If it passed it goes to the waiting ramp and then accelerated and inserted if there is an available slot. Once in the guideway the vehicles are progressively spaced further apart the faster they go. But regardless of speed the passing rate per minute is constant which also makes the system safe and foolproof. The Fig.2 shows vehicles in transit at high speeds and got spaced further apart automatically. Fig.3 shows the point of exit (just before the entrance point preferably nearby) where the vehicles are decelerated even more while going thru registration and computation station. If rider(driver)does not acknowledge its presence the vehicle is sent to an attended ramp to awake the driver or take necessary emergencies if not well or responding. The Fig.4 is a freight yard location where only cargo is extracted or inserted and preferably giving preference to passeger vehicles to insertion into the system. The cargo containers are automatically put in storage racks for truck pick ups later. The same holds true for cargo leaving there. Fig.12 illustrates how air is (cont) |

(IMAGE NO.49)Above is a typical view of high speed maglev guideways in various areas all over the world. They would not interfere with noise, pollution, or other dangers presently witnessed at present with our highways and roads.(cont) |
IMAGE NO.52 The image above shows a typical interchange for entrance and exit of dual mode vehicles.(cont) |
(IMAGE NO.58 This is a comparison between the present Chunnel shown at top and how the two small tubes could be substituted for a single one as shown in the lower sketch and eventually when maglev dual mode smaller tubes within it could be providing access for future passenger and freight modules instead of trains.(Cont.) |
