FRIDAY ACTIVITIES-every friday, after our weekly exam, we do an activity that lets us learn about the culture of Japan.  We have done may things from cooking, to field trips, to visiting a local college.  These are pictures from some of them.

The friday of the 27th, we watched a real Japanese Tea Ceremony perfectin every way!  We then ate sweets and had tea! Friday the 4th, we watched and played the Shamisen and the Koto.  The Koto is the long dulcemer looking instrament below.  And the Shamisen looks almost like a banjo!  We got to play a song on the Koto!

Friday the 11th-We took a field trip to Kyoto,by bus, and saw 4 different temples. This is Kinkakuji, the golden temple.  It is plated with gold on the outside.  All the temples we went to see were reconstructed because they were all burnt down at one time durring battles or wars.

Molly is standing my one of two of the "love telling rocks", it is said that if you can walk the whole 10 meters between the two rocks with your eyes closed then u will have luck with love!
