Description:

Goulash is a stewed dish comprising of meat and vegetables. It's a staple food of cattle stockmen or herdsmen

What you will need:

  • 2 lbs veal, cut into cubes
  • 1 lb lean pork, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 heaping tbsp flour
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms (optional)
  • Shortening
  • Salt, pepper, and paprika to taste

Directions:

Chop onions, sauté in shortening, but do not brown. Add meat, flour and seasonings and sauté for two to three minutes. Add water, peeled tomatoes and sliced mushrooms, both cut into large pieces. Mix and bake for one hour at 250 degrees farenheit.
