Summing up and Questions |
||||||||||||
1. Summing up When summing up, use the same points that you had on the slide: "What we will be talking about" Refer (verwijs) to each point and say something short about what was discussed under this point just to refresh (opfrissen) the memory of your audience. 2. Questions? . Offer in a polite way to answer questions Examples of how you could do this: (a) You receive a phone call asking you for information about your latest product. Reply: We would be very pleased to send you this information. (b) The teacher explains some theory to the class before putting the students to work on a small project. He asks: If anything is not clear to you, please feel free to ask questions and I'll happy to answer them. 3. Answering questions: BE PREPARED! · Prepare a list of 10 possible questions that the audience might ask about the points on your slides and the answers to them. · For help, look at how 'Frequently Asked Questions' are formulated on Internet sites, for example www.bbc.co.uk 4. Extra information: Hand out a list of sites to consult which you used for the information you have given them. Perhaps you have some other sites you can also recommend (aanbevelen)! 5. Round off presentation: Thank the audience again. Example: (a) You are leaving a formal party. Your host sees you to the door and, as you leave, says: Thank you for coming. It was a great to see you. (b) Your teacher is saying goodbye at the end of term. Goodbye to all of you. It was a pleasure teaching you.. NOTE: If you decide to create an Internet site to put this presentation on, then tell your audience this and give the site address. |
