GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS


           FOR MYSELF:

                        1.  To show love and respect for each student.
                        2.  To strive to stress the positive.
                        3.  To endeavor to meet the needs of the students regarding the Reading curriculum.
                        4.  To recognize individual learning styles and  to teach accordingly.
                        5.  To encourage the students to read for pleasure as well as for scholastic achievement.
                        6.  To encourage creative writing.
                        7.  To keep parents informed of their child's progress.

           FOR THE STUDENTS:

                        1.  To exhibit a Christian attitude toward others.
                        2.  To follow classroom rules.
                        3.  To come to class prepared with completed assignments and supplies.
                        4.  To participate in classroom discussions.
                        5.  To ask for help whenever an assignment is not clear.
                        6.  To be responsible for make-up work when they have been absent.
                      
            FOR PARENTS:

                        1.  To supply students with necessary materials.
                        2.  To provide adequate time and a quiet place for homework.
                        3.  To reinforce school policies and classroom rules.
                        4.  To feel free to contact me when concerns arise.

            
GRADING POLICY

Students will be graded on the following:

                        1.  Classwork
                        2.  Homework (usually graded on completeness, not correctness)
                        3.  Tests and quizzes
                        4.  Book projects
                        5.  Informal anecdotal assessment
