The Minox EC

The EC was Minox's first "entry level" subminiature camera.  It is also the smallest and lightest camera they produced up until its release in 1981.  The EC has a fixed focus (at 2 meters) f5.6 four element Tessar derived lens for which Minox optimistically rates the Depth of Field from 1 meter to Infinity; I would rate it closer to 4  feet to 15 feet.  The electronically controlled shutter has a top speed of 1/500th of a second and the camera has no built in neutral density filter.

The limitations of the EC are numerous.  It has a non-focusing slow lens, a single aperture, a fairly slow shutter, is incapable of taking close-ups and is very soft out toward Infinity, so you may wonder, why would anyone want to use such a limited camera?  The answer is that it is wonderfully designed and once you learn to live within its limitations it is a real joy to use.  In a sense, the EC is more a toy than a serious camera, but hey, toys are meant to be fun and the EC is one of the funnest cameras I own.
