I rededicated my life to the Lord when I was 13. After that, I strayed away. I attended a Christian High School and acted right, but inside I was longing to go my own way. I eventually did just that, when I graduated and left for college. I wish I could say that I was strong, but I was not, I gave in to temptation. I strayed away from God for about 5 years. Those were lonley, desperate years. Then I met my husband, we got married about a year later and got pregnantabout 10 months later, in that order. When I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, we went to a drama play called Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames. It was that night that we dedicated ourselves to live our lives better for the sake of our child. I started attending church, then rededicated my life again. I prayed and prayed for my husband until one day in Jan. 2000, just 4 months before our 2nd child was due to be born. He came home from work and announced that he couldn't do it anymore and he called our pastor and had him come over and Chuck prayed and asked Jesus into his heart and life. I was overjoyed! My husband was coming to Heaven with me! But things didn't stay all cozy and wonderful, in fact, things plummeted to the worst time in our lives. We were being tested. |
