In the early 70s,  when a rock'n'roll revival was broadly seen as quaint nostalgia for a time prior to the drug-taking Hippies and the aggressive Skinheads,  di this begin to change.  This PR transformation was given a further boost in the late 1970s with the emergence of Punk, and when this bizarre new life form clashed witht he Teds in well publicized battles on the Kings Road,  the prevalent media view saw the Teds as comforting time-travellers from an altogether saner and safer era. -  Ted Polhemus / Street Style     -     ( main picture : Malcolm McLaren ) - TEDDY  BOYS MENU
