Back to: El Hombre at the Movies.

25th Hour: "sigh". (note from El Hombre: everyone sighs in this movie,
lots of sighing going on, too much sighing)

Midnight Run: Starring Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin, this was one of the best movies from 1988. It spawned a number of horrible TV shows in 1988 and 1989 about bounty hunters, and the music style and sound was imitated ever since. El Hombre loves this movie so much, and has a lot of memorable quotes. Some of the lines find their way into other movies, just stolen word for word. First, here's part of the cast.

Cast:

Jack Walsh (bounty hunter): Robert DeNiro

Marvin Dorfler (sleazy bounty hunter): ?

The Duke, or Jonathan Mardukas (accountant, embezzled money from Chicago mob boss and donated it to charity): Charles Grodin

Jimmy Serrano (mobster boss): ?

And now,
the best quotes from Midnight Run.

The Duke (talking about his fear of flying):
"These things go down. It's too big. They go down."

Jack Walsh: "Why don't you shut the fuck up?"

Marvin Dorfler: "Hey Jack, who the fuck is this?"

The Duke: "Cigarettes are killers."

Jack Walsh: "Listen, just shut the fuck up, will you?"

Marvin Dorfler: "Am I lucky, or am I just good? Fuckin-a, I'm the best."

The Duke: "If you'd like, I'll outline a whole diet for you."

Marvin Dorfler: "Who the fuck are you guys."

Jack Walsh:
"You shut up. I'm not talking to you the whole rest of the trip."

The Duke: "You guys are the dumbest bounty hunters I've ever seen."

Jack Walsh: "Shut the, just shut the, shut the fuck up!"

Marvin Dorfler: "I amaze myself. I'm always thinking."

Jimmy Serrano:
"Relax Sidney, sit down, have a glass of milk, do some fuckin' thing."

Jack Walsh: "I've come too far. Too far. I'm too close."

The Duke: "Just get yourself a new watch."

Marvin Dorfler: "Goddammit, who the fuck are you guys?"
