Abdullah started his career as a professional wrestler as "Zeluis Amara" and then took the name of "Abdullah the Butcher," billed as the "Mad Man from the Sudan," in 1958.
Abdullah got an opportunity to come to Japan for the first time for the JWA (Nippon Pro Wrestling) with Bob Stanlee, Mr. Atomic (Clyde Stevens), Prince Pullin, Jackie Fargo, Mystery Oregon, and Gerry Monti from August 21 to September 17 in 1970.
