John MATLOCK
.1 John MATLOCK was born in Nottingham, England and was Christened on 30 March 1560. He married Margaret ASSEKEM on 24 June 1586 at St Giles, Cropwell Bishop, Nottingham, England. His father was William MATLOCKE and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. Margaret was born about 1565.

NOTE: Mabel Nobel sent me a copy of a letter that she received in response to a letter that she had written. It was to the Archives in Nottinghamshire County, England.

(3) John Matlocke was baptised on 30 Mar 1560
(4) We were unable to find entries for Thomas Matlock in 1589, George Matlock in 1613 and William
Matlock in 1648.

Known children of John and Margaret are:

… 2 John MATLOCKE was christened on 12 January 1593 in Cropwell Bishop, Nottingham, England.

… 2 George MATLOCK was born on 27 April 1606 in Cropwell Bishop, Nottingham, England.

Thank you for your enquiry of 5 March 1994 which hwas been passed on to this Office by Rev Perkins because we hold the records of the parish church of St Giles Cropwell Bishop.

We have examined the parish registers of Cropwell Bishop and found the folowing inforamtion which we hope will be of assistance to you in your research:

John Matlock and Margarett Assekem were married on 24 June 1586

George Matlocke and Jane Hall were married on 7 November 1636

John Matlocke was baptised on 30 March 1560

We were unable to find entries for Thomas Matlock in 1589, George Matlock in 1613 and William Matlock in 1648.
