OBITUARY: (from Mrs. Noble) St. James Journal - The Passing of Rev. Louis J. Rinehart. Louis Jefferson Rinehart was born near Red Bird, MO Sept 22 1865, and departed this life at the family home in St. James, MO March 11, 1935 at the age of 69 years 5 months and 17 days. He was the son of George W and Nancy Reinehart, pioneer residents of Dawson township in Phelps County, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Rinehart was educated in the rural schools in Phelps County, attended Missouri School of Mines, Rolla, MO and graduated from Cape Giradeau State teachers Normal. He began his professional career as a school teacher, teaching approximately 20 years in the rural districts of Gasconade, Crawford and Phelps Counties. He was united in marriage with Nora Ellen Branstetter, September 1892. To this union was born six children, Bolia L, Homer, Edna May, Clyde E, Ivan L and Clara Marie Rinehart. From the time of the marriage for almost 27 years he resided on a farm near Oak Grove Church in Dawson Township. For the past 15 years he has resided with his family at St. James, MO. He represented Phelps County in the state Legislature in 1909. He united with the Church of Christ at Oak Grove when 19 years of age and has been an active member of the church ever since that time. He became an elder in the church soon after becoming a member and for the past 20 years has been an ordained minister of the Church of Christ. Mr. Rinehart is survived by shi wife Nora Ellen and 3 children Homer Rinehart of West Plains, MO, Clyde C Rinehart of New Have, MO, Ivan L. Rinehart of St. James, MO. One grandchild Homer Eugene Rinehart two brothers Marion and Alona and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Three children Bolia L, Edna Mae and Clara Marie preceded him in death. Mr. Rinehart was of a jovial disposition and a kind and sympathetic nature. He had a wonderful capacity for making friends as all who knew him were impressed by his sincerity and integrity. Many sought his councel on their own personal problems for they knew that he was always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellowmen. He lived that christian life in which he firmly believed and taught. A brief service was held at the home at 10 a.m., Tuesday morning. The body was then taken to the Oak Grove Church where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. Rev. Ed Romine conducted the service assisted by Rev. Gabriel and Rev. Bradford, and Fred Barber of St. James.

OBITUARY: (from Mrs. Noble) Francis Marion Rinehart: Francis Marion Rinehart was born in Phelps County, June 26 1867 and departed this life at his home near Oak Grove July 29 1941 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 3 days. He united with the Oak Grove Church of Christ in 1885 and remained a faithful member until his death. In 1891, he was married to Ida Branstetter. To this union three children were born. Two daughters, Nancy and Betty preceded him in death. Ida, his wife, died May 22, 1898. On July 26, 1910 he was united in marriage to Mary Breuer, who remains to mourn his departure. Besides his loving companion he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ed Krewson of St. James, MO; three sons Walter S of Decatur, Ill, Ward C of St James, Breuer F of FL. Leonard Wood, and one stepson, Otis F. Breuer of Lemay, MO; ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by E C Mitchem at Oak Grove with Licklider's Funeral Home in charge July 30 at 3:00PM. Interment in the Oak Grove cemetery.
